SMT Operator - Sorrento Valley - $18/hr - $28/hr
Job Description
The AOI Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to ensure the quality and accuracy of printed circuit board assemblies and other electronic components. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Load and unload PCBAs onto the AOI machine.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records.
- Perform basic maintenance on the AOI equipment.
- Ensure quality control by inspecting electronic components.
- Experience in electronic inspection and quality control.
- Familiarity with surface-mount technology and printed circuit board assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
- Previous experience operating computers and navigating software.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
Skills & Qualifications
- Soldering experience, particularly with surface mount soldering.
- Basic understanding of electronic components and functions.
- Ability to troubleshoot and assist in machine repair.
- Basic math skills.
- Focus on defense manufacturing in electronics.

Work EnvironmentThe role requires the ability to lift and carry 25 pounds and involves standing for extended periods. The work is conducted in an ESD environment, requiring the wearing of ESD gowning. The schedule is 6 am to 2:30 pm, with opportunities for overtime. Training will occur during the shift for which employees are hired.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
