Job SummaryWe have an exciting opportunity for a Cable Technician to join our team located in San Diego, California.
Duties and Responsibilities- Repair wiring assemblies and solder fine‑pitch components to meet IPC
610 class 3 requirements. - Build various cables that meet IPC
620 class 3 requirements. - Determine and/or follow methods and sequences of operations in performing assembly tasks such as wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing on assembly units.
- Comprehend assembly drawings and written instructions.
- Measure using tools such as measuring tapes, scales, calipers, etc.
- Crimp terminals/contacts onto wires using manual and automated tooling.
- Label assemblies in accordance with drawing specifications.
- Solder-tin wire splices (lap/hook) connections.
- Perform complex yet repetitive tasks in preparation for electronic and/or mechanical assembly.
- Use basic hand tools: cutters, wire strippers, hand crimpers, scissors, soldering iron and heat gun.
- Maintain a positive growth mindset.
- Certification in IPC
610, IPC
620 and J‑standard is a plus. - Experience in material potting is a plus.
- Work with fiber‑optic cables and RF cables.
- Assemble, disassemble and modify assemblies according to specifications.
- Perform 5‑S housekeeping and cleanup duties upon completion of assigned tasks.
- Work overtime and Saturdays as needed to meet schedule deadlines.
- Observe all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Work safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

- Associate's degree or equivalent with nine or more years of experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- Ability to work with common hand tools and operate laboratory equipment.
- Perform complex assignments with little or no direction.
- Work on systems with unusual conditions such as high pressure, high voltage, high energy, cryogens, or radioactive materials.
- Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field.
