$36.02 to $54.04 hourly

Installs, maintains, and repairs ship’s main propulsion and auxiliary systems including Steam, Gas Turbine, Diesel propulsion, propulsion shafting, propellers, rudders, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and steering systems. Also handles ship’s sub-systems such as pumps, compressors, purifiers, heat exchanges, hydraulic/electric motor operators, valves, and fluid control components. Tests installed equipment to ensure specifications are met and operates various shop equipment.

• Provides organization and leadership for crew(s) within PCE facilities and/or assigned work sites.
• Ensures/provides training to junior personnel in shop/shipboard procedures, inspection, operation, and repair/overhaul.
• Interfaces with associated trades, contractors, sub‑contractors, vendors, customers, and schedulers to ensure effective and efficient task accomplishment.
• Ensures proper identification and availability of necessary equipment and material to meet all milestones.
• Attends daily production, planning, and/or progress meetings, providing accurate, up‑to‑date, and knowledgeable status inputs.
• Writes Condition Found Reports, detailing inspection results, discrepancies, recommendations, and pricing of parts and labor.
• Accurately interprets and performs work per Process Control Procedure(s) (PCP).
• Knowledgeable in Navy WAF and Tag Out systems; develops, submits, and closes out WAFS with proper verification.
• Reads and comprehends work specifications, technical manuals, standards, NAVSEA items, blueprints, and drawings.
• Communicates effectively in both verbal and written forms.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

• High School or GED (preferred).
• Minimum 6–10 years of ship repair experience.
• Extensive knowledge of shipboard equipment, systems, and subsystems.
• Familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Items and applicable NSTMs.
• Proficiency in machinery alignment processes using laser and dial indicator methods.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Eligibility to obtain base clearance, including background check and valid U.S. government or military  (REAL  or U.S. passport).
