Sheet Metal TIG Welder

Talent Source is looking for an experienced Sheet Metal TIG Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in TIG welding with a focus on sheet metal fabrication, an eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, as you will be responsible for producing precise welds on a variety of sheet metal projects for our clients.

• Perform TIG welding on thin-gauge sheet metal, ensuring high-quality and accurate welds.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to understand project requirements.
• Prepare and set up sheet metal pieces for welding by grinding, buffing, and positioning as needed.
• Inspect welds for quality, alignment, and conformity to specifications.
• Use hand tools and power equipment for metal cutting, bending, and shaping to meet design requirements.
• Collaborate with the fabrication team to improve processes and achieve project goals.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety standards and company policies.

• Experience
  : 3+ years in TIG welding, particularly with sheet metal; additional welding experience is a plus.
• Technical Skills
  :
  Proficiency with TIG welding equipment, sheet metal tools, and reading technical drawings.
• Physical Requirements
  :
  Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various postures.
• Attention to Detail
  :
  Strong focus on accuracy, quality, and consistency.
• Safety
  :
  Knowledge of welding safety protocols and commitment to safe work practices.

• Certification in welding (e.g., AWS TIG certification) is an advantage.
• Prior experience in a shipyard environment.
