Associate Underwriting Managing Director – San Diego

Join a fast-growing, innovative insurance leader specializing in complex commercial risks. We’re seeking a dynamic, results-driven leader to drive growth and oversee their San Diego office.

You’ll lead a high-performing underwriting team, drive business growth, and oversee office operations, including P&L. Partner with producers on new and renewal business, shape sales strategies, and ensure talent development, retention, and profitability.

• Lead, mentor, and manage the San Diego team
• Oversee office operations: P&L, marketing, new business, and renewals
• Hire, retain, and develop top talent
• Build strong relationships with clients, agents, carriers, and producers
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, policies, and contracts

• 5+ years in E&S commercial multi-line underwriting/production
• 3+ years leading sales teams with direct management experience
• Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and grow a team
• Strong relationship-building, sales, and organizational skills
• Insurance license required; CPCU, CIC, or equivalent preferred
