We are seeking an Environmental, Safety, Health & Security Director, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in ESH and security roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position within military or industrial sectors; supporting multiple locations in California, Florida, Hawaii, Virginia and Washington.
Position SummaryThe Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) and Security Director will lead and manage the ESH and security initiatives for a Managed Services Organization (MSO) within a diversified holdings company. This senior leadership role involves strategic oversight and operational management of ESH and security requirements for a portfolio of companies, including both military and industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will ensure the highest standards of environmental, safety, health, and security compliance, aligning with regulatory requirements and best practices.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement comprehensive ESH and security strategies across all managed companies, ensuring alignment with the holdings company s overall goals. - Compliance Management:
Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, standards, and policies regarding environmental protection, workplace safety, health, and security. - Risk Assessment:
Conduct regular risk assessments and implement proactive measures to mitigate potential hazards and security threats. - Training and Development:
Oversee the development and execution of ESH and security training programs for employees at all levels. - Incident Management:
Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented and communicated across the organization. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance and foster a culture of continuous improvement. - Performance Monitoring:
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor ESH and security performance, providing regular reports to senior management. - Budget Management:
Manage the ESH and security budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to meet strategic objectives. - Other duties as assigned, requested or needed.
- Education:
Bachelor s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Security Management, or a related field. A Master s degree is preferred. - Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in ESH and security roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position within military or industrial sectors. - Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar credentials are highly desirable. - Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of ESH and security regulations, standards, and best practices within military and industrial contexts.
