Overview

Contingent upon contract award. The Inventory Manager when hired will oversee the inventory operations of Government‑owned mission stock and will direct employees engaged in conducting Distribution Standard System DSS or other Warehouse Management System inventories, researching inventory discrepancies and documenting gains and losses through causative research, performing denial research, item data maintenance and location surveys. The Contingency Inventory Manager will be responsible for records, maintaining control of all inventory items purchased and produced.

Primary

Responsibilities
  • Ensure inventory integrity of the Government‑owned mission stock meets acceptable performance levels outlined in the contract.
  • Plan the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on workload projections on a weekly or monthly basis.
  • Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences in accordance with service‑delivery schedules, methods, and policies established by the Site Manager and/or Alternate Site Manager.
  • Redirect workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and to accommodate daily workload fluctuations.
  • Conduct planning of current and future work schedules.
  • Provide workload data, estimates, and information on staffing needs.
  • Give recommendations on scheduling of project work.
  • Ensure work is done properly and efficiently in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract.
  • Ensure compliance with established internal‑control procedures.
  • Maintain data and inventory control.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Ensure area of responsibility operates in agreement with all referenced DLA Distribution SOPs, addendums, FRAGOS, and Process Manuals required for day‑to‑day operational processing and audit preparation.
  • Manage a team of Inventory Technicians and Specialists.
  • Ensure compliance with the Audit Assertion Program reporting and documentation requirements, including monthly assertion reporting that assigned areas of responsibility are ready for audit and that corrective‑action plans are documented and being corrected if an assertion cannot be made.
  • Oversee the Audit Assertion Program functional areas of COSIS and Physical Inventory Processes.
Education and/or Experience
  • GED or equivalent; college degree a plus.
  • Three (3) years’ minimum experience in inventory using DSS or an equivalent automated Warehouse Management System (WMS) within the past five (5) years.
  • Demonstrate a good attitude and the ability to lead a team in a warehouse setting.
  • Self‑motivation and ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to multi‑task efficiently, work in a fast‑paced environment, and have strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with DSS and other Government‑Furnished Data Systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to use and instruct others in DSS Systems and the Query Management Facility (QMF) to perform requirements in the PWS.
  • Self‑motivation and the ability to lead a team under minimal supervision from the Program Manager.
  • Ability to multi‑task efficiently, work in a fast‑paced environment, and maintain strong detail orientation while leading others.
  • Knowledge and ability to teach and lead safety procedures.

Security Clearance

Position requires U.S. Citizenship, a U.S. Government background check, and may require a U.S. Government SECRET clearance. If a SECRET clearance level is required, candidate must also:

  • Have a current U.S. Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or successfully complete a U.S. government‑administered investigation.
  • Maintain a U.S. Government SECRET clearance.
Physical Demands

Employee must occasionally stand, walk, sit, use hands and/or fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, operate office equipment, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, talk or hear, taste or smell, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
