Field/Service Technician, Installation Technician
Overview
Tarkett in Dalton has an opportunity for a Field Service Representative. Objectives for Technical Services and Field Services include supporting Tarkett as the leader in the flooring industry; provide excellent customer service; provide excellent technical sales support; provide consistent, timely, and accurate documentation. The position will call for work with resilient products as well (LVT, sheet vinyl, VCT, vinyl stair treads, rubber tile, wall base, etc.).
Location:
ideally based out of Southern California, Las Vegas, or Texas.
- Provide Technical Support via in-person contact, as well as telephone and e-mail communications (Product, Installation, Site Conditions, Maintenance, etc.).
- Significant amount of troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Conduct Claim Inspections and Technical Evaluations in the field (travel to jobsites throughout the western United States and Western Canada, and potentially outside of North America on rare occasions).
- Submit detailed reports within 48 hours including key observations/facts, photographs, collection of samples and applicable evidence.
- Product installation of soft surface materials (carpet tile, POWERBOND, broadloom) for trade shows, e.g., Neo Con, mock-ups, field testing, tip sheet videos, etc.
- Conduct training sessions and seminars, including hands-on installation demonstrations and speaking/presenting in front of an audience.
- Conduct POWERBOND and broadloom certification tests (written and practical exams) that are pass or fail for the students.
- Manage the logistics of certification processes and submit paperwork to the corporate office for certification of those students who pass the test.
- Travel with Tarkett Account Executives on customer visits to provide technical support on a sales call (approximately 50%–75% travel).
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office).
- Effective communication skills. Bi-lingual not required but preferred.
- Flooring installation experience; including and preferred with POWERBOND, woven, and tufted broadloom.
