M1 is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic I (Power Plants) for maintenance focused on the upkeep of H-60 series aircraft, including the MH60-R model. This role involves supporting the maintenance and repair of aircraft systems, performing inspections, and ensuring the readiness of the aircraft in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance on aircraft structure, engines, gearboxes, rotor systems, and avionics to ensure all components are properly maintained.
  • Use various tools (e.g., welding, shear metal brakes, rivet guns, and drills) to repair and maintain components.
  • Conduct inspections (e.g., 175-hour, isochronal, and phase inspections) and troubleshoot focusing on engine components and hydraulic systems; use testing equipment to assess engine function and replace damaged parts as needed.
  • Adjust, repair, and replace electrical wiring systems and other accessories to keep aircraft systems in safe operating condition.
  • Perform pre-flight, through-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections to ensure aircraft is serviced and safe for operation.
  • Participate in aircraft handling activities including jacking, towing, and moving aircraft; record all maintenance activities and address safety of flight items.
  • Potential specialization areas in engine repair, airframe maintenance, electrical systems, or armament.
  • Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean work environment, and ensure compliance with quality standards. Participate in programs like FOD prevention and HAZMAT handling.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance in OOMA or similar systems, ensuring compliance with 4790 and safety standards.
  • Lead and supervise junior mechanics as needed, assigning tasks and monitoring work to ensure safety procedures are followed during repairs and inspections.
  • Additional duties: maintain shop cleanliness; obtain and maintain CDI (Collateral Duty Inspector) certification; participate in safety programs; dispose of hazardous materials properly; manage or coordinate maintenance programs as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Language:
    Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of three (3) years of H-60 series aircraft maintenance experience (or equivalent rotary aircraft experience), including at least three (3) years as a CDI/CDQAR. MH60-R experience is preferred.
  • Certifications:

    Obtain necessary certifications like CDI (Collateral Duty Inspector) or QAR (Quality Assurance Representative); ability to obtain and maintain qualifications per US Navy guidelines.
  • Leadership:
    Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse, cross-cultural team.
  • Technical:
    Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and NALCOMIS/OOMA.
  • Security:
    Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Tier-3 Background Investigation and possible secret clearance.
  • Driver’s License:
    Current valid U.S. Driver's License.
Working Conditions
  • Physical:
    Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.; must meet physical standards and pass a medical exam.
  • Work Environment:
    Ability to work under pressure and deadlines; strong organizational skills and mental alertness; flexible start/end times dependent on flight schedule and tasking.
  • Shifts:

    Must be able to work all shifts. Full-time employment; however, 40 hours per week is not guaranteed.
