This is a primarily in-office role (4 days per week) in the firm’s San Diego (Del Mar) office.
Position Summary
The Probate, Trusts & Estates and Probate Paralegal supports attorneys with estate administrations and works closely with the San Diego Probate Litigation group on a wide range of matters. Flexibility to work overtime as needed is required.
Key Responsibilities of the Trust & Estates/Probate Paralegal
- File probate and trust documents with courts throughout California and manage dockets
- Marshal estate assets and obtain asset valuations
- Assist with preparation of federal estate and gift tax returns
- Prepare and file documents to transfer assets into trusts (real estate deeds, assignments of interest, transfer forms)
- Coordinate with financial institutions to retitle accounts and update beneficiary designations
- Prepare fiduciary accountings
- Draft petitions for probate, trust documents, pleadings, and declarations; manage filing deadlines
- Track court deadlines and filing requirements
