This is a primarily in-office role (4 days per week) in the firm’s San Diego (Del Mar) office.

Position Summary

The Probate, Trusts & Estates and Probate Paralegal supports attorneys with estate administrations and works closely with the San Diego Probate Litigation group on a wide range of matters. Flexibility to work overtime as needed is required.

Key Responsibilities of the Trust & Estates/Probate Paralegal

  • File probate and trust documents with courts throughout California and manage dockets
  • Marshal estate assets and obtain asset valuations
  • Assist with preparation of federal estate and gift tax returns
  • Prepare and file documents to transfer assets into trusts (real estate deeds, assignments of interest, transfer forms)
  • Coordinate with financial institutions to retitle accounts and update beneficiary designations
  • Prepare fiduciary accountings
  • Draft petitions for probate, trust documents, pleadings, and declarations; manage filing deadlines
  • Track court deadlines and filing requirements
