We are seeking a litigation paralegal to assist assigned attorneys with all aspects of the litigation process, from initial case assessment to trial and post-trial procedures. This includes legal research, drafting legal documents, managing discovery, preparing for and attending depositions and trials, and organizing case files. Ensure cases move efficiently and effectively.
Key responsibilities include:
- Case Preparation:
- Conduct legal research and initial case assessments
- Gather evidence and necessary materials for case files
- Analyze data and prepare summary charts
- Draft pleadings and motions
- Discovery Management:
- Draft discovery requests and review documents for relevance
- Subpoena documents and witnesses
- Manage complex productions within eDiscovery platform, Nextpoint
- Organize materials for attorney review
- Organize and maintain discovery folders within case files
- Summarize and index documents through Co Counsel
- Work with electronically stored information (ESI)
- Prepare deposition exhibit lists and deposition notebooks
- Trial Preparation:
- Maintain Exhibits List
- Prepare trial exhibits and binders
- Coordinate witnesses and experts
- Communicate with court personnel, opposing counsel and others
- Manage outside vendors
- Prepare trial exhibit lists and trial notebooks
- Prepare deposition exhibit lists and deposition notebooks
- Track exhibits and other evidence during a trial
- Trial Assistance:
- Provide real-time support to attorneys in the courtroom
- Assist with jury selection
- Manage documents and handle exhibits
- Track exhibits and other evidence during trial
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in legal research and writing
- Ability to proactively manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Familiarity with legal software and technology (Relativity and/or Nextpoint a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program
