Litigation Secretary – Employment Defense Downtown San Diego | $75,000 DOE
A well-established law firm in downtown San Diego is seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary to support attorneys handling employment defense matters. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, fast-paced legal team with high-quality work and long-term stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, format, proofread, and file legal documents (pleadings, motions, discovery)
- Handle e-filing in state and federal courts
- Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and trial preparation
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, and meetings
- Maintain and organize case files (electronic and physical)
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of litigation secretary experience, specifically in employment defense
- Strong knowledge of California and federal court rules and procedures
- Proficiency with legal calendaring and e-filing systems
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Salary up to $75,000, depending on experience
- Downtown San Diego location with easy access to transit, dining, and parking options
