POSITION SUMMARY

The Litigation Paralegal plays a pivotal role in supporting our civil litigation and mass tort attorneys, and this Litigation Paralegal position is essential to ensuring smooth case progression. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will manage high volumes of casework, coordinate legal processes, and ensure accurate and timely handling of all case-related documentation. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are key.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support attorneys through all phases of litigation, from client intake through trial preparation and settlement.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents including complaints, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and summarize case law, statutes, and regulations for attorney review.
  • Manage large caseloads, with a focus on organizing documentation, tracking evidence, and monitoring case statuses.
  • Coordinate court filings, deadlines, depositions, and calendaring to ensure procedural compliance.
  • Gather and prepare medical records, authorization forms, and other evidentiary documents, especially in mass tort matters.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, opposing counsel, and court staff to facilitate smooth case progress.
  • Maintain and update case management systems and document databases with a high level of accuracy.

  • Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of legal document preparation and case management.
  • Adapts to changing legal requirements and procedures, maintaining flexibility and professionalism under pressure.
  • Collaborates effectively with attorneys, staff, and external parties to support efficient legal service delivery.
  • Proactively seeks solutions, responds constructively to feedback, and demonstrates commitment to continuous learning in the legal field.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or legal department setting.
  • Civil litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, Lexis Nexis), and case management systems.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be willing to travel for casework, court proceedings, or training as needed.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Perform repetitive tasks such as typing and clicking.
  • Must be able to lift and move light items up to 20 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and sit.
