Associate Attorney - Civil Litigation

This opportunity sits within an established litigation group at a respected, mid to large sized firm. The team includes experienced, AV rated litigators and is known internally for strong mentorship and steady case flow.

You will be responsible for managing active civil litigation matters, with an emphasis on professional liability, general liability, and premises liability. The day to day work typically involves:

• Handling cases from early investigation through resolution
• Drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery
• Taking and defending depositions
• Working directly with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel
• Participating in mediations, hearings, and trial preparation

The cases require thoughtful advocacy and practical problem solving, not just volume for volume’s sake.

This is a hybrid role based in San Diego. In-office time is used intentionally for collaboration, mentoring, and case strategy, while flexibility is respected.

Feedback is direct and timely. Associates are evaluated on the quality of their work, their responsiveness, and their ability to manage matters effectively. There is room to grow here, whether that means deeper subject matter expertise or broader responsibility over time.

• Base compensation range of $160,000 to $210,000, depending on experience and fit
• Performance-based bonuses are a meaningful and expected part of total compensation
