Tru Neighbor is a patent-backed startup building a peer-to-peer grocery shopping platform that connects neighbors through real-time geofencing and automated role-switching. Our mission is to redefine last-mile grocery delivery by leveraging natural shopping patterns within local communities—reducing costs, traffic, and environmental impact.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Founding Engineer to lead all engineering efforts and grow into a CTO-level role. You will have full technical ownership of the product, architecture, and engineering direction.
This is an equity-only role at this stage and is intended for someone looking for real ownership, influence, and long-term upside—not a side project.

What You’ll Own
- Full ownership of the engineering stack (mobile + backend)
- Architecture, scalability, performance, and security decisions
- Product execution from roadmap to production
- Infrastructure, deployments, and system reliability
- Hiring and leading future engineers
- Working directly with the founder on product strategy and growth
- You will not be handed tickets—you will help decide what should exist.
Current Stack (Flexible)
- Mobile: iOS (Swift); cross-platform experience welcome
- Integrations: Payments, authentication, and location services already live
You will have influence over how the stack evolves.
Bonus Points
- Experience with geofencing, marketplaces, or peer-to-peer platforms
- Interest in long-term equity and early-stage startup building
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile workflows
