Product Manager, Modem Cellular Technology

Overview

Qualcomm is seeking a Staff Product Manager for modem technology within the cellular wireless domain. This role is part of the team that drives Qualcomm’s modem and RF technology roadmaps for AI/ML features. You will build strong relationships with modem engineering teams, define product and roadmap requirements, identify and prioritize features for implementation, and align plans with internal business units and product teams.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration with R&D, engineering, marketing, and various business units to bring innovative cellular connectivity AI/ML features to market. Candidates should be able to think strategically, communicate effectively, and execute efficiently. The ability to multitask and adapt to changing needs and stakeholders is important.

• As a Modem-RF Product Manager, develop a strong background in operations of cellular wireless protocols and interdependencies.
• Understand the impact of cellular system performance on different types of applications.
• Understand MLOps, inference methodologies, AI frameworks, and orchestration methodologies.
• Research the latest ML/AI developments in the wireless industry and assess their impact on Qualcomm product plans.
• Stay up to date on competitor capabilities and market trends.
• Define product strategy based on system design trade-offs, ecosystem readiness, and opportunity cost.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to translate product strategy into requirements and commercialization plans.
• Communicate product plans, benefits, and challenges to internal and external audiences with appropriate detail.
• Demonstrate strong written and spoken communication skills with diverse audiences.
• Ability to lead without direct authority across the organization and industry.

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field; 5+ years of Product Management or related experience.
• Preferred Requirements: 10+ years of wireless industry experience; 10+ years of Product Management or related experience; MS in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering; MBA (preferred).
