OWN YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION

The Senior Information Security Analyst will be responsible for supporting the team on a wide variety of information (cyber) security objectives related to Third-Party Risk Management, vulnerability management, audit, reporting, risk assessments, architecture and incident response in support of the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance (SDZWA). The Senior Information Security Analyst will work in a growing team environment and have an opportunity to work with a wide variety of departments and resources.

This position reports to the Head of Information Security.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Responsible for the daily management of operational information security and Third-Party Risk Management including collaboration with departments to integrate risk-based decision-making into vendor selection and management. Conduct and negotiate terms as it relates to Information Security risks. Develop and implement effective strategies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Assist with architecture reviews and infrastructure, network, internal and external security improvement projects. Support internal, external audits and information security risk assessments both internal and third-party to identify, assess, measure, and monitor information security risks.

Assist in providing support for the design, deployment and use of security related tools and management systems, identify and implement processes and technical solutions, including code/programming to enhance automation and reporting.

Document, formalize, enforce and adapt information security policies, standards, procedures and guidelines, in partnerships with the business.

Support incident response, investigation and remediation.

Liaise with internal employees throughout the organization (Information Technology, Engineering, HR, Administration and Support) and external resources as necessary, on information security matters such as emerging security risks and control technologies.

Will be self-directing and act as project leader on small to large projects; nurture effective working relationships; will coordinate with internal and external resources in performing the duties of this position.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Preferred candidate with experience in Third-Party Risk Management, with a focus on partnering with internal departments to incorporate risk-based decision-making into vendor selection and management processes.

JOB EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 3 years Information Security experience or equivalent experience in Information Risk or Audit.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, or equivalent background in relevant disciplines required.

CISSP, CRISC, CISA, or similar industry certification(s) preferred.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Must possess a solid understanding of Information Technology, Information Security, Third-Party Risk and Risk Management.

Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience with technical and policy writing preferred.

Experience with internet and network security products and platforms, including intrusion detection/prevention, incident response and investigation, vulnerability management, data loss prevention and penetration testing.

Experience with risk assessment methodologies is preferred.

Experience with Change Management Processes.

Policy development and implementation experience.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
