PCS employs approximately five hundred staff members. The company has offices in New York, NY, St. Petersburg, FL, San Diego, CA and Schaumburg, IL. PCS has a geographically diverse workforce and supports hybrid and remote business-based flexibility.
The ideal candidate will be in the metro New York, New Jersey, St. Petersburg, San Diego or Schaumburg area to allow for regular in-office presence. This role is considered hybrid; the expectation is 4 days' presence in the San Diego, CA office with one day remote.
Private Client Select (PCS) is building an on-site IT capability in San Diego and is hiring an Application Support–focused IT professional to support our PCS One application suite and core insurance platforms.
This role is application-first (≈60%), with end-user and service desk support (≈40%). The ideal candidate understands how identity, access, and application workflows intersect and can support insurance business users across modern and legacy platforms.
You will serve as a front-line technology partner to underwriting, distribution, and operations teams—resolving application issues, provisioning access through Okta, and ensuring users can effectively perform insurance workflows.
Key Responsibilities- Provide functional and technical support for insurance platforms including:
- Billing and policy administration systems
- Support common insurance workflows:
- Policy issuance and binding
- Endorsements and renewals
- Agency and broker onboarding
- Triage application issues, validate data and access dependencies, and coordinate resolution with product, development, and L2/L3 support teams.
- Participate in business-as-usual (BAU) release support and day 2 activities; communicate status, workarounds, and resolutions clearly to business users.
- Support user onboarding/offboarding and access changes using Okta Workforce and Okta CIAM.
- Manage Okta group-based provisioning and validate profile attributes for the PCS One application suite.
- Troubleshoot SSO and access issues.
- Ensure access aligns with role, compliance, and operational requirements.
- Provide foundational/beginner support for Jira (intake, updates, workflows).
- Contribute to Confluence documentation for application support, access workflows, and common issues. Maintain clear SOPs and job aids.
- Serve as first-line support for end-user technology issues when application-related or identity-adjacent.
- Triage and resolve tickets through Fresh service; elevate appropriately with strong documentation.
- Support Microsoft 365 (Outlook/Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Intune) at a functional level.
- Deliver a professional, business-aware support experience.
- Identify repetitive tasks and support no-code / low-code automation where applicable.
- Execute and lightly modify Power Shell scripts related to provisioning or reporting.
- 3–5+ years in application support, service desk, or end-user IT roles
- Experience with insurance platforms (MGU/MGA environments strongly preferred)
- Experience supporting business applications, not just endpoints
- Experience with:
- Identity and access concepts (users, groups, roles)
- Microsoft 365 suite
- Independently resolves most application and access issues
- Understands insurance workflows end-to-end
- Troubleshoots IAM and provisioning issues with minimal guidance
- Partners effectively with product and engineering teams
- Contributes to process improvements and documentation
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable working in structured ITSM environments
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Exposure to Okta Workforce or CIAM
- Salesforce and Instanda experience
- Jira and Confluence familiarity
- Power Shell scripting exposure
