Description
Tyto Athene is searching for multiple Telephony Technicians with expertise in DoD telephony infrastructure to assist in completing site surveys at 11 Naval Bases throughout the continental United States.
Responsibilities- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of system configurations, network diagrams, cabling, testing, changes made, and resolution steps for survey report.
- Collaboration and Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support project related tasks and initiatives.
- Compliance and Standards: Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in low-voltage cabling, telecommunications, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications principles, equipment, and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VoIP, SIP).
- Familiarity with cabling standards and network configurations is essential.
- Strong knowledge of PBX systems (e.g., Avaya, Cisco, Mitel), VoIP protocols (SIP, TCP/IP), and network fundamentals (LAN/WAN).
- Use specialized testing equipment, including cable analyzers and continuity testers, to verify cable functionality.
- Strong understanding of different cable types, telecommunications protocols, network topology, and electrical safety standards.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in emergency situations.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with an associate’s degree or technical certification in electronics, telecommunications, or IT being highly valued.
Industry certifications like CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or manufacturer‑specific certifications (Avaya, Mitel, etc.) can enhance career prospects.
Physical Stamina- The role may require physical exertion, including climbing ladders or towers, lifting heavy equipment, and working in confined or awkward spaces.
Active Secret clearance required.
TravelThis position will require 85% travel.

- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically between $75,000 – $85,000. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above‑stated range.
