Role:
Senior Data Analytics Engineer

Navaide is seeking a skilled Senior Analytics Engineer to lead data engineering and analytics projects. The ideal candidate will be proficient in data architecture, processing, and solution development, playing a crucial role in supporting the Navy’s mission by ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and security. This role involves close collaboration with various departments to design and implement data solutions that enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Collaborate closely with Data Program Managers to drive comprehensive data initiatives, serving as the team’s expert in efficient implementation.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot data ETL and ELT pipelines within Navy/DOD environments like Advana/Jupiter.
  • Dive deep into pipeline code, assess legacy logic, and formulate plans to ensure data accurately addresses business challenges.
  • Conduct research, perform exploratory data analysis (EDA), and implement quality checks to maintain data integrity.
  • Rapidly iterate on new data applications, utilizing libraries, code repositories, and other resources.
  • Develop proofs of concept for new data applications and implement unique features for dashboards.
  • Fine-tune GenAI models, develop Qlik applications, and explore various project-specific possibilities.
  • Innovatively document databases and leverage automated metadata collection techniques to detail upstream transformations.
  • Optimize and repurpose complex SQL queries.
  • Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to gather and refine data requirements.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to the advancement of team capabilities.
Qualifications:
  • Over 6 years of experience in complex data environments, leading data strategy, solving business and customer problems with data, and developing data products.
  • More than 5 years of proven experience in delivering data and analytics solutions using PySpark, SQL, and Python in platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong business acumen, expertise in data lifecycle development, and ability to iteratively enhance data for advanced business use-cases.
  • Proficiency in data and analytics tools and an understanding of modern data stack trends.
  • Excellent analytical skills, capable of managing multiple projects while engaging key stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing self-service analytics using tools like iQuery and Redash.
  • Effective communicator, independent thinker, and self-starter.
  • Strong ability to translate complex data into clear visual narratives using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
  • Experience with Navy financial data is advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related technical field. Master’s degree preferred.
Security Clearance:

Candidates must possess, or be eligible to receive, US DoD Security Clearance.

Travel:

Candidates must be willing to travel approx. 25% within the continental United States of America.

Education:

Bachelor's degree required.
