POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Coordinator supports and coordinates day-to-day HR processes, systems, and activities across the HR function. This role also supports the Operations team by assisting with office needs and coordinating logistics for internal events as needed. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, tech-savvy professional with at least one year of hands-on HR experience who is eager to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The HR Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining accurate employee records, supporting onboarding and offboarding, ensuring compliance, and providing administrative support to both HR and Operations. This is a full-time, in-person position with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be based in San Diego.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES HR Responsibilities
  • Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting coordination, onboarding, offboarding, and employee transitions
  • Manage and administer HR systems and tools (, ADP, EASE, Principal), ensuring accurate data entry, updates, documentation, and reporting
  • Format job descriptions, post roles, schedule and conduct interviews for designated positions, and prepare offer and compensation letters
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities, including background checks, training setup, IT ticket submission, tracking equipment, and system access updates
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within the HR database
  • Support payroll processes by tracking employee changes, timekeeping updates, and documentation
  • Support compliance initiatives, audits, and policy administration
  • Support benefits administration activities, including monthly benefit reconciliations, Open Enrollment tracking, and documentation management
  • Track acknowledgements, required training, performance review completion, and Leaves of Absence timelines
  • Assist with HR audits, compliance tracking, and reporting needs
  • Route employee relations inquiries to appropriate HR team members
  • Support HR communications, org chart updates, calendars, and announcements
  • Assist with HR projects as needed
Operations Responsibilities
  • Assist with office events coordination and setup for internal meetings, employee appreciation events, holiday parties, and lunch and learn sessions
  • Serve as backup to the Operations Coordinator role including front desk duties
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support evolving changes in the HR & Operations departments
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
  • High School diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred (Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field) Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • 2–3 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a related administrative role
  • Working knowledge of HR systems (ATS, HRIS, payroll platforms such as ADP preferred)
  • Experience working in a professional office setting
