Job Overview:
The Human Resources Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting our workforce and fostering a positive work environment. They will be responsible for a range of duties including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws. The ideal candidate will be a proactive communicator, adept at problem-solving and committed to maintaining a healthy organizational culture.
- Assist in the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting screening interviews, and coordinating hiring efforts.
- Administer employee benefits programs, answering employee queries, and ensuring timely enrollment.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Facilitate employee relations and address grievances to promote a positive work environment.
- Conduct exit interviews and provide feedback to management on trends and insights.
- Manage HR records, including contracts, leaves, and performance reviews.
- Support training and development initiatives.
- Assist in the performance management process.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience in a human resources role.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
The role is primarily office-based, requiring frequent interaction with staff across all levels of the organization.
Physical RequirementsPrimarily a desk job with extended periods of sitting; may require occasional lifting of light office supplies and materials.
