Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the implementation of a new HR and payroll system. This temporary, project‑based role will provide hands‑on support throughout the system transition, working closely with HR, Payroll, IT, and vendor partners to ensure a smooth, compliant, and employee‑centered implementation.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & Implementation Support
- Support day‑to‑day project management activities for the HR/payroll system implementation, including planning, task tracking, risk identification, and issue resolution.
- Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and dependencies across HR, Payroll, IT, Finance, and external vendors.
- Assist with system configuration, testing, data validation, and parallel payroll runs.
- Monitor progress against project milestones and elevate issues as appropriate.
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of HR functions (e.g., payroll, benefits, leave administration, time and attendance, employee data management, onboarding/offboarding).
- Ensure HR and payroll processes are accurately reflected and operationalized within the system.
- Support the translation of FJV employment policies into system workflows, rules, and configuration.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve service delivery through system functionality.
- Ensure system setup and processes support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Partner with HR leadership to validate that policies and procedures are accurately represented and consistently applied.
- Assist with documentation of processes, controls, and decision points to support compliance and audit readiness.
- Bring a people‑first mindset to system implementation, with a focus on usability, clarity, and service excellence.
- Support change management efforts, including communication planning, training coordination, and user readiness.
- Serve as a resource to HR staff during transition, helping build confidence and adoption of the new system.
- Demonstrated experience supporting HR and payroll system implementations or major system transitions.
- Strong project management experience, including coordinating cross‑functional teams and managing timelines.
- Broad knowledge of HR functions and how they are supported through HR/payroll platforms.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
- Ability to interpret employment policies and translate them into operational system requirements.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners.
- Experience with Paycom and/or transition from ADP to Paycom.
- Experience working in a nonprofit or mission‑driven organization.
- Familiarity with HRIS implementation best practices and employee‑centered system design.
