Employee Relations, HR Manager, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
WS Management is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to support our Southern California hotel portfolio
, with a primary on-site presence at the Best Western Hacienda Hotel Old Town
. This role is ideal for a California HR professional who enjoys being hands‑on at the property level while supporting multiple locations.
This position partners closely with the General Manager at the Hacienda and reports functionally to Corporate HR leadership, ensuring strong compliance, training completion, employee engagement, and morale at the property level while also providing HR support across additional Southern California hotels.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the on‑site HR leader at the Hacienda Hotel Old Town
- Support HR operations across multiple Southern California hotel properties
- Advise managers on California labor law, employee relations, discipline, and investigations
- Administer leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA) and accommodations
- Oversee Workers' Compensation claims and return‑to‑work coordination
- Audit payroll, HRIS entries, benefits, and compliance documentation
- Support recruiting, onboarding, training completion, and employee engagement
- Partner with leadership to maintain morale, communication, and culture
- 5+ years of HR management experience (multi‑property preferred)
- Strong knowledge of California labor and employment law
- Hospitality experience preferred
- PHR / SPHR / SHRM-CP/SCP a plus
- Excellent communication, organization, and judgment
- Comfortable working on‑site and traveling locally as needed
