The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. The role includes parking and retrieving guest vehicles in a prompt yet safe manner and assisting guests with luggage (including delivery and pick up of guest luggage where applicable) during arrival and departure.
Essential Functions- Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co-workers, and clients. Acknowledge and greet guests within five feet using a professional demeanor. Use guests last names during interactions.
- Greet guests with a salutation of the day and welcome them to the location. Practice proper Towne Park phone etiquette. Position yourself in designated areas when not assisting tasks.
- Park and retrieve vehicles safely and attentively. Assist guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed. Open vehicle and hotel doors for guests.
- Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries. Provide information about outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, and local attractions. Deliver messages, items and guest amenities as requested. Shuttle guests to approved locations.
- Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests. Issue and collect claim checks and maintain ticket information in the valet system (key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey, claim check receipt).
- Maintain and complete location data on key tags after parking. Calculate and collect revenue when needed.
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.
Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state you are applying to work, or within commutable distance from the state you are applying to work (as applicable)
Work Experience:
One (1) month related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge:
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
Skills:
• Ability to read and write standard English language
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients and other employees
• Ability to add and subtract three-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s; understand money in US currency
• Understand 24-hour and military time systems
• Understand rates applicable to time passed
• Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable
• Perform parallel parking

- Physical Requirements: Regularly talk or hear. Frequently sit or stand for extended periods; may need to run, walk, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Lifting Requirements: Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Travel: Travel of up to 5% may be required.
- Environment: The majority of work is outdoors for extended periods, including the entire shift, with exposure to environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold. Protection from weather may be provided but not guaranteed.
