Under direct supervision, the Linen Service Worker distributes clean linen to all departments in need of linen. Folds and consolidates clean linen. Orders and stamps clean linen. Maintains log and records for distribution of new linen into the system. Receives and distributes lab coats for Medical Staff. Maintains Linen Room in clean order. Loads soiled linen into carts. Wear protective clothing as required.
Other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge/experience working in an area of lifting/carrying and cleaning environment.
- Must be able to read, write, understand and communicate orally in English.
- Must be able to write legibly and compute basic addition and subtraction.
- Entry level computer knowledge/skills.
- Prior experience working in an environmental service/linen department plus experience with vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, and general cleaning procedures in a healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of acceptable practices/procedures under Title 22 - State of California, Cleanliness of laundry.
- Must wear protective clothing as required.
- Possible exposure to infectious linen will result in the employee being required to shower and change uniform before leaving Medical Center.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Annual Full Pay Range: $43,952 - $52,555 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $21.05 - $25.17
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
