Description

UC San Diego Health provides comprehensive urologic care for both men and women, offering expertise in conditions such as kidney stones, urinary disorders, fertility issues, and diseases affecting the male reproductive tract and female pelvic floor. Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the clinic manager, the Urology Front Desk Coordinator is responsible for providing customer service, registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, greeting patients, and patient check-in and check-out. Additional responsibilities include collecting copayments and answering telephones. Typical duties involve handling multi-line incoming calls, completing online registration, scheduling appointments, securing authorizations for scheduled services, and operating office equipment such as fax machines and scanners.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum of three (3) years previous related experience in a large complex healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of third-party payors, including federal, state, and private health plans.
  • Proficient computer skills and the ability to work within multiple platforms during calls.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work in an interactive environment and possess excellent customer service skills both in person and over the phone.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality with demonstrated experience applying good judgment and discretion is required.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision; open to new ideas; a creative and flexible individual who is comfortable working in a large, complex organization.
  • Professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment, and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • EPIC, ORSOS, PCIS, and IDX experience.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, multi-specialty clinic.
  • Authorization and registration experience.
  • Urgent or Primary Care experience.
  • Urology experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Possible overtime. Must be willing and able to float to other locations as requested.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency and Additional Information

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $57,399 - $71,347 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $27.49 - $34.17

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
