Pay range (depending on experience): $21.00 - $25.00 hourly
Schedule/Shift3 days per week, 8:00am to 5:00pm
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain volunteer training and orientation programs that meet patient and family needs; coordinate and conduct orientations and training sessions regularly.
- Recruit, orient, and interview prospective volunteers.
- Maintain knowledge of Medicare, CHAP, and other regulatory requirements to ensure departmental compliance.
- Manage all administrative tasks required to operate Volunteer Resources in assigned branch locations, providing support to additional branches as needed.
- Determine the need for volunteer services with patients, families/caregivers, and the hospice team.
- Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Maintain monthly statistics.
- Keep current and accurate volunteer personnel files.
- Reevaluate the volunteer program as needed; identify needs for new programs or services and develop them accordingly.
- Plan and facilitate volunteer support and education meetings.
- Attend interdisciplinary group meetings.
- Provide information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer services.
- Participate in budget preparation related to program development.
- Contribute to quality assessment and performance improvement activities, including reviewing and revising volunteer policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as needed.
- At least two years of experience in a health care setting preferred.
- At least two years of management or volunteer supervision experience preferred.
- Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services.
- Understanding of hospice philosophy.
- Ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel to meet patient and organizational needs.
- Ability to manage individuals providing volunteer time who are considered employees.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including the Microsoft Office suite; database experience preferred.
- Training or experience in holistic, complementary, or alternative modalities, and/or prior volunteer experience preferred.
