Under the supervision of the clinic manager, the Front Desk Coordinator is responsible for customer service, registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, greeting and checking in and outpatients, collecting copayments and answering telephones. Typical duties include answering multi-line incoming customer calls, completing the online registration, scheduling appointments, securing authorization for scheduled services, operating fax machine and scanner. Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- Greet and check in/out patients; process registrations and collect copayments where applicable.
- Answer multi-line phone system; route calls and provide information as needed.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations as required for scheduled services.
- Maintain accurate patient information and ensure confidentiality of all records.
- Assist with scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling of appointments across multiple clinic areas.
- Operate office equipment (fax, scanner) and support administrative tasks as assigned.
- A minimum of three (3) years previous related experience in a large complex healthcare setting.
- Proven knowledge of third-party payors including federal, state, and private health plans.
- Proficient computer skills/ability and to work between multiple systems during calls.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an interactive environment.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- EPIC experience.
- Experience in a fast-paced, multi-specialty clinic.
- Authorization and registration experience.
- Express Care, Primary Care and/or OBGYN experience.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Possible overtime. Must be willing and able to float to other locations as requested.

Annual Full Pay Range: $57,399 - $71,347 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $27.49 - $34.17
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
