Job Summary

The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) is a leadership role within Home of Guiding Hands’ Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) programs. This position is responsible for ensuring individuals we support receive high-quality, person-centered services that meet Title 17 and Title 22 requirements while promoting dignity, independence, and inclusion.

As a QIDP, you will collaborate closely with individuals served, families/guardians, interdisciplinary teams, and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to design, implement, and monitor Individual Service Plans (ISPs). This role also carries 24-hour responsibility for the health, safety, and overall quality of services in assigned residential homes.

What You’ll Be Doing

Consumer Services

• Serve as Chairperson of the Interdisciplinary Team and oversee ISP development
• Participate in pre-admission interviews and transition planning
• Identify individual strengths, needs, and goals
• Design, implement, and monitor individualized programs
• Review and revise programs at least quarterly
• Coordinate services with schools, day programs, consultants, community agencies, and families
• Advocate for consumer rights and ensure follow-through on all team decisions
• Ensure compliance with agency policies and state and federal regulations

Staff Supervision & Training

• Supervise Residential Supervisors and Residential Service Technicians
• Provide coaching, training, and ongoing performance feedback
• Conduct staff evaluations and implement corrective action when needed
• Ensure staff compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations

Administrative Responsibilities

• Complete documentation and inter-agency paperwork accurately and on time
• Manage departmental budgets and address variances proactively
• Ensure adequate staffing and scheduling coverage
• Attend required meetings and facilitate Human Rights meetings
• Lead Mock Survey teams as assigned
• Maintain availability via cell phone and flexible scheduling

Communication

• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, families, case managers, and consultants
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation

Qualifications

Education & Credentials

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field OR valid California certification/registration in:
  • Education, OT, PT, RN, Rehabilitation Counseling, Speech Pathology, MD, or Osteopathy
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (required)

Experience

• Minimum 1 year working with individuals with developmental disabilities
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
• Experience managing multiple sites and a caseload of up to 18 individuals

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
• Proficient in basic computer applications
• Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
• High level of patience and adaptability

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Ability to perform household tasks (meal prep, cleaning, laundry)
• Ability to drive agency vehicles safely in all conditions
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and transferring residents
