Under general supervision by the ED/Inpatient Social Work Director, Transitional Support Team Clinical Social Worker (CSW) provides clinical social work services including discharge planning, continuing care services, crisis intervention, mandated reporting, information and referral, and coordination of health and mental health services with community providers. The primary function is to provide clinical assessments of patients with substance use disorder, assess for change readiness, and introduce them to treatment settings (withdrawal management, outpatient care, inpatient care, and programs that provide medications for addiction treatment [MAT]).
After assessment, the CSW will provide appropriate clinical referrals and assist with appointments and other linkages. The primary location for this position will be Hillcrest, with a requirement to float to East Campus as needed. Depending on experience, the position may be hired at Clinical Social Worker II or III level. While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying.
- A Master s degree from an accredited school of social work (MSW).
- Minimum two (2) years of post-MSW Social Work experience required to be hired at level II.
- Must possess the knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to work within a team environment.
- California LCSW license (must have this certification to be hired at level III).
- Proven clinical training and/or work experience in the acute care, inpatient setting.
- Experience working with patients with substance use disorder and familiarity with local resources. Motivational Interviewing experience a plus.
- Work experience in acute, inpatient setting and/or emergency department.
- The pay scale for the CSW2 (2+ years post-MSW experience) is $89,491-$117,909. The pay scale for the CSW3 (with California LCSW) is $100,411-$132,295.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act:
Annual Full Pay Range: $89,492 - $117,909 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $42.86 - $56.47. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced is the budgeted salary or hourly range the University expects to pay; the Annual Full Pay Range may be broader due to internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements.
