UC San Diego and Rady Children’s Hospital are seeking an experienced Clinical Research Coordinator to support neuromuscular clinical trials, including muscular dystrophy, neuropathy, and rare myopathies.

• Coordinate and oversee start‑up procedures, recruitment, screening, enrollment, documentation, data entry, and maintenance of study subjects.
• Develop informational and recruitment materials and collaborate with other UCSD departments and agencies to implement studies.
• Plan, develop, and implement start‑up procedures for multiple phase I‑IV research studies, leading and directing operational efforts.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory guidelines and oversee quality of medical and clinical research data.
• Build and maintain regulatory documents from start‑up to close‑out and provide direction and guidance to investigators.
• Provide education and information to the general public concerning ongoing clinical trials and work closely with sponsors and federal and state regulatory officials.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related field and/or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in clinical trials research with strong knowledge of GCP and FDA regulations.
• Experience in research protocol start‑up procedures, IRB processes, and qualification procedures.
• Experience performing clinical research duties in a CRO, academic research institution, or research hospital.
• Strong knowledge of investigational protocols, data management, and query resolution.
• Proven ability to manage multiple vendors and to find creative solutions to adjust center needs.
• Excellent organization, communication, and computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and capacity to respond to emails in a timely fashion.

• Clinical Research Coordinator Certificate or Master’s Degree.
• Proficiency with Velos, UCSD’s clinical trials management system.

• Subject to criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.
• Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
• Must be willing to travel to Rady Children’s Hospital and other locations (ACTRI, La Jolla campus).

Annual Full Pay Range: $78,530 - $126,282 (prorated if appointment percentage < 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $37.61 - $60.48.
