Variable. Hiring Pay Scale: $53.46 / $70.03 per hour. Location and alignment: UC San Diego Health’s Rapid Response Lab provides services to Jacobs Medical Center, Moore’s Cancer, and other outpatient areas. The role may be hired at the CLS or CLS Specialist level depending on experience.

• Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity testing; evaluate test results and quality control procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation.
• Provide laboratory services in a timely manner and deliver excellent customer service.
• Serve as a technical resource for customers and other staff; adhere to all safety policies.
• Perform other related clinical lab science functions as required.
• Work in subspecialty areas of the laboratory—Hematology, Coagulation, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Blood Gas.

• Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) certification.
• Strong math skills.
• Manual dexterity.
• Demonstrated ability in teaching, critical thinking, and problem solving.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, sound judgment, and accountability.

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience with Soft Lab LIS and Epic.
• Experience with automated instrumentation (Iris IChem ext IQ, GEM
  4000, TEG, Roche Cobas).
• Generalist skills in Hematology / Chemistry.

• Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and at various locations as needed.
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Annual Full Pay Range: $146,223 (prorated if appointment percentage < 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $70.03 (for this range). Hiring pay scale notes: the posted range is the budgeted salary/hourly rate the University reasonably expects to pay; actual pay may vary based on experience, licensure, and other factors.
