Clinical Lab Scientist - Hillcrest Blood Bank - 136437
Under supervision of a Senior Supervisor CLS, perform a wide variety of technical procedures in a section of the Department Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Other responsibilities include method development-modification-parallel testing, collaboration on or preparation of abstracts or manuscripts, repair of laboratory instruments, sample processing, reagent preparation, data entry and phlebotomy duties. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed.
Responsibilities- Assess daily workload and help coworkers as needed; work is assigned daily and reviewed by supervisory personnel or designee.
- Process specimens, perform waived and non-waived testing within licensure scope without direct constant supervision, and report results as trained and deemed competent.
- Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or appropriate sub-specialty license issued by the State of California, Department of Public Health.
- Graduation from college with a major in a relevant field.
- Previous clinical lab experience.
- Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position.
- A Bachelors Degree.
- Previous relevant experience.
- At least two years of applicable clinical laboratory experience
- SBB (Specialist in Blood Banking, ASCP) certification
- Experience with blood bank information systems (e.g. Soft Bank)
- Experience with Ortho Vision analyzer.
- Experience with product modification workflows.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Base pay range: $47.34/hr - $62.53/hr
Annual Full Pay Range: $98,846 - $130,563 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $47.34 - $62.53

The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
