Job Title

Mammography Tech – Per Diem – #137954

Position Summary

The Mammography Tech primarily performs screening and diagnostic breast imaging procedures and may assist in interventional breast procedures. They are responsible for operational effectiveness in the Breast Imaging area with a focus on patient flow, customer service, equipment oversight, and quality control guidelines. The role collaborates with radiologists and clinicians to implement new procedures and processes that ensure seamless operations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform screening and diagnostic breast imaging procedures.
  • Assist or perform interventional breast procedures as needed.
  • Maintain operational effectiveness, patient flow, and customer service.
  • Oversee equipment, follow quality control guidelines, and ensure radiation safety.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and clinicians to implement and improve procedures.
  • Maintain continuing education specific to breast imaging.
  • Participate in training, evaluation, and self‑directed work teams.
  • Demonstrate skills and knowledge via competency exams in all breast imaging procedures.
  • Adhere to radiology imaging protocols and policies.
  • Work flexible hours, which may include evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, call, and occasional overtime for staffing needs.
  • Operate PACS, digital mammography, RIS, and HIS.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Complete certification training program for radiologic and mammographic technologist.
  • California Radiology Technologist of Mammography (CRT‑M).
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of first hire date.
  • Demonstrated PACS, digital mammography, and computer knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience as a mammography technologist.
  • Registered Technologist for Mammography issued by ARRT (R.T(M)(ARRT)).
Special Conditions
  • Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on‑call, and locations based on the 24‑hour Medical Center’s business needs.
  • Employment subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $144,845 – $144,845 (prorated if appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $69.37 – $69.37.

Professional Certification Requirements

Life‑support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands‑on practice and in‑person skills assessment; online‑only certification is not acceptable.
