The Child and Adolescent Services Research Center (CASRC) is part of the Department of Psychiatry at UC San Diego and affiliated with Rady Children’s Hospital. CASRC researchers study the implementation of evidence‑based practices for children with a range of mental health and developmental needs in community care settings.

Under supervision of the Center Principal Investigators and Center Coordinator, the incumbent will assist with a variety of tasks supporting the Implementation Science and Team Effectiveness in Practice (IN STEP) Children’s Mental Health Research Center and linked projects. The IN STEP Center is funded by the National Institute of Mental Health to use organizational team effectiveness research to develop and test novel team‑based implementation strategies, methods, and tools to improve the reach, quality, and effectiveness of care delivered in public systems serving children with mental health needs.

Affiliated projects are funded by Health Resources and Services Administration and leverage IN STEP infrastructure, data, and expertise to test implementation strategies to improve Behavioral Health Services for Autistic Children.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with coordinators and investigative teams at collaborating university and community sites to ensure consistency of processes and procedures.
  • Support the essential infrastructure for the community engagement and trial activities of the Center.
  • Support all IRB management through the University of California’s IRB Reliance agreement and online system.
  • Support implementation of the detailed protocol for risk assessment used for Data Safety and Monitoring.
  • Coordinate with the investigatory teams of the Center Projects to facilitate recruitment of community organizations and co‑lead community engagement activities.
  • Maintain the Center website and develop content for social media platforms (Twitter, You Tube, etc.).
  • Provide administrative and technical support for Center webinar series.
  • Work closely with coordinators, investigative teams, and data managers to support the evaluation of individual Center projects and overall impact.
  • Prepare, administer, and manage web‑based surveys, collect and perform data entry of altmetric scores, website, and social media platform analytics.
  • Perform general project tasks including but not limited to preparing meeting minutes, attending research and community partner meetings, literature searches, data entry, web‑based survey development and distribution, report and manuscript preparation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Six years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus two years of related experience/training.
  • Working knowledge of safety, legal, cultural and regulatory requirements relative to field research responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of research discipline, principles, concepts, analysis and / or operations being conducted at field / remote sites.
  • Working knowledge of local customs and operations at field / remote sites.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships and partnerships with remote research partners.
  • Demonstrates ability to work with a team, and to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to work in ambiguous conditions.
  • Proficient research and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated communication skills with project team members.
  • Previous experience in a research setting involving human subjects, specifically individuals with mental health conditions, caregivers of individuals with mental health conditions, and or health care providers.
