Position: MRI Tech, Per Diem - East Campus - 138012

MRI Tech, Per Diem - East Campus

Bring your expertise as a magnetic resonance imaging technician to UC San Diego Health where you'll perform routine to complex MRI procedures under general supervision, following established guidelines and MRI protocols.

Responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients for procedures, administering contrast media per protocol, educating patients, collecting patient history, communicating patient information to the radiologist, entering complex data into the computer system, reviewing and verifying images for technical quality, and troubleshooting MRI-related PACS issues. The MRI Tech acts as a subject matter expert and assists other technicians as needed, demonstrating knowledge of radiation safety principles.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of a school of radiologic technology or MRI Technology program.
  • Registered Technologist for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) issued by ARRT or ARMRIT.
  • Venipuncture certification within six (6) months of hire date.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Recent experience in a similar role and setting or new graduate of an approved MRI technology program.
  • Possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
  • Proven knowledge of radiological computerized systems and applications.
  • Thorough understanding of various radiological systems to include PACS and RIS.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six (6) months of recent relevant experience.
  • Previous hospital experience.
Special Conditions
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $149,522 – $149,522 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $71.61 – $71.61.
