Under general supervision, provides full range of administrative support for the Operating Room. Responsibilities include answering phones, directing calls, scheduling surgical and invasive services, procedures, and clinic visits; serving as primary receptionist as needed; coordinating communications between several operating rooms via telephone and intercom; acting as liaison between patients, patients’ families, surgeons, nursing staff and outside parties. Generates a variety of correspondence, reports, and minutes.

Assigns scrub access, stocks coffee in the lounge, and maintains various databases.

This Per Diem position will be the administrative assistant support for the East Campus Main operating room (OR) department and will be on a variable schedule. May be assigned other administrative tasks as needed.

• Three (3) years recent administrative experience in Operating Room (or similar healthcare environment), with a variety of surgical cases.
• Experience in an inpatient setting, medical assistant background, and 3+ years of healthcare experience in a large setting.
• Demonstrated excellence in customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Possess effective time management skills.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Highly detail-oriented.
• Must possess the ability to work effectively and equitably with others.

• Medical terminology training and/or certificate.
• Database management experience. Working knowledge of EPIC/OpTime system, and ORSOS.

• Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $67,484 - $67,484 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $32.32 - $32.32

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
