$ 55-60/hr Travel Package $3000/week + DOE
The Mammography Technologist performs high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography exams in a patient-centered outpatient environment. This role supports two imaging center locations within San Diego County and requires a dependable, compassionate technologist who is comfortable working independently, delivering excellent patient care, and maintaining strong clinical standards.
The technologist will work Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in Chula Vista, and Tuesdays and Thursdays in Logan Heights.
ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties
- Perform high-quality 2D and 3D mammography exams in accordance with ACR, MQSA, and facility protocols.
- Ensure proper patient positioning, technique selection, and image quality for accurate interpretation.
- Verify patient identity, review medical history, and explain procedures to promote comfort and understanding.
- Assist with additional breast imaging procedures as needed (e.g., diagnostic views, localization support).
- Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety guidelines and infection control standards.
Operational Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies for daily operations.
- Perform routine quality control checks and document results per MQSA requirements.
- Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and support staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Accurately document patient information, exam details, and imaging data in the RIS/PACS systems.
- Support both assigned locations by ensuring consistent service quality and communication across sites.
Patient Care
- Provide a welcoming, respectful, and supportive experience for all patients.
- Recognize and respond to patient needs, including anxiety, mobility limitations, or special accommodations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards at all times.
- Chula Vista Imaging Center:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday - Logan Heights Imaging Center:
Tuesday, Thursday - Full-time schedule; occasional flexibility may be required for coverage or operational needs.
Required
- Current California CRT license
- ARRT (M) certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of mammography experience (or strong clinical training background)
- Knowledge of MQSA and ACR standards
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites
Preferred
- Experience in an outpatient imaging or breast center environment
- Experience with GE Health Care Senographe Pristina or willing to learn
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills (helpful for patient population)
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to assist patients with positioning and mobility
- Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs as needed
This role starts asap and will be for a 13 week assignment to start. Possibility for extension.
