Rancho Bernardo. Hiring pay scale: $25.31 - $31.50 per hour. Department: COMM CARE PRIMARY CARE. Union: EX Contract. Total openings: 2.

Under the direct supervision of the clinic manager and the general supervision of the clinic providers and licensed nursing staff, the Medical Assistant performs work requiring specific knowledge and training in patient care within the applicable state regulations and The Joint Commission standards. Duties include scheduling patient appointments and related system screens, accurate billing, environmental care functions, equipment and supply management, and cleaning/disinfecting the environment.

Requires knowledge of medical terminology, online scheduling, universal precautions, and proper use of body mechanics. The role requires initiative, the ability to prioritize and to work in a team environment. Other related duties as assigned.

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six months of hire date.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience.
• One year of experience working in a fast-paced Primary Care clinic.
• Experience in direct patient care.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, universal precautions, and proper use of body mechanics.
• Requires initiative and the ability to prioritize demands.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.

• Two years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Procedural experience.
• Experience with EPIC and Cadence module.
• Knowledge and understanding of FLOW process specific to UCSD community care.

• Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Annual Full Pay Range: $52,847 - $65,772 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%).

Hourly Equivalent: $25.31 - $31.50.

Factors in determining compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements where applicable.
