Overview

Job Summary The Caregiver role is a crucial position for those who rely on others for basic daily care, such as bathing, eating, and personal hygiene. Caregivers typically work with elderly or disabled individuals in a facility or home care setting. We are looking for candidates in the following service areas: DOWNTOWN, CENTRAL SAN DIEGO, LA MESA, LA JOLLA, RANCHO BERNARDO, and POWAY.

For NORTH COUNTY AREAS: ESCONDIDO, SAN MARCOS, VISTA, OCEANSIDE, CARLSBAD, and ENCINITAS.

• Pays $18 to $22 per hour

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries, or accidents, including showering, bathing, dressing, and eating.
• Assist clients with medications, ambulation, and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.).
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercises.
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop if needed.
• Perform light housekeeping duties and prepare meals.
• Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors, and family members.
• Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors, and family members.
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.

• Homecare Aide Certification (HCA) – CA State requirement; involves registering as a Personal Attendant and providing Livescan fingerprints for FBI background check. Salus can help with this process if you are not currently certified.
• TB Test – Must be within 90 days of start.
• Must be able to legally work within the USA.
• Physical capability to perform all job functions.
• Safe driving record and valid auto insurance if you will be driving with clients.
• Ability to speak, write, and read English is a requirement.
