Hours: Shift Start Time: 7:30 AM | Shift End Time: 6:30 PM | AWS Hours Requirement: 10/40 - 10 Hour Shift | Weekend Requirements:

Hourly Pay Range: $27.83 – $33.39 – $37.40. The actual rate will depend on experience, skills, education and marketplace factors.

What You Will Do

Assists patients, staff and physicians as needed to maintain a high level of efficiency of operations and customer service while providing quality care to a designated patient population.

Required Qualifications
  • Certification of completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals (AHA BLS) – Required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 Year MA experience in a related clinical area.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants – Preferred.
  • Hospital Corpsman (HM) – US Navy – Preferred.
mdi Essential Functions
  • Clinical competencies: Successfully completes Clinical Competencies with a score of 90% or greater in each section = Great; 90% or greater on all but one section = Good;
    Needs Improvement if more than one section is not passed or fails on second attempt.
  • Clinical skills: Demonstrates clinical knowledge and skill within scope of practice; fully successful in performing/assisting with all tests and procedures; administers medications safely and accurately following guidelines and written orders; verifies by licensed person; documents all medications administered including two patient identifier verifications; prepares and labels biopsies accurately; obtains complete patient consent for procedures/surgery કોરોન; partners with physicians to expand knowledge;

    listens to patients; routes urgent cases to physicians; monitors calls according to physician instruction; may assist with scheduling; reviews lab results and provider instructions; uses universal precautions; assists PSRs with front‑desk issues; models positive service delivery; participates in clinical projects.
  • Department efficiency and effectiveness: monitors patient flow, physician schedules, completes daily tasks to meet service standards, follows policy for OCM and IDX, fulfills work within assigned hours, prioritizes patient needs, responds calmly to urgent situations, ensures report readiness, maintains supply levels, participates in site inspections and inventories, enters authorizations, assists other departments, and travels to sites as needed.
Organizes And Completes Daily Requirements And Responsibilities
  • Telephone Message Management: Ensures prompt return of messages according to policy and troubleshoots problem calls.
  • Daily Organization: Monitors patient flow, clinician schedules and ensures quality and service standards; enters OCM, uses IDX, operates within assigned hours.
  • Responds to urgent and emergent situations calmly; uses good .;
  • Ensures readiness of reports and information for patient visits.
  • Maintains appropriate supply levels with cost‑conscious use.
  • Participates in site inspections and inventories; completes department inventories per guidelines.
  • Enters authorizations and schedules surgeries promptly and accurately.
  • Assists in other departments as needed; may travel to other sites.
Quality Initiatives and Technical Skills
  • Quality initiatives: Completes QA assignments and ensures compliance; QA scores: 96‑100% = Great; 90‑95% = Good; 90% or below = Needs Improvement; supports P4P, BMI, Data Mart, etc.
  • Technical skills: Demonstrates knowledge of equipment and information systems; activates emergency procedures per protocol; documents care events accurately; completes AEHR tasks on time; supports new applications and policies; demonstrates typing proficiency (≥30 wpm with ≤2 errors); understands insurance, utilization review, scheduling; operates and maintains department equipment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical skill and office procedures.
