Santaluz Animal Care is a progressive, Fear Free-focused hospital in North County San Diego, and we are ready to elevate our rehabilitation services with an experienced Rehab Veterinarian who wants real impact, real autonomy, and a team that actually listens.
Why This Role Is DifferentThis is not a side service squeezed between wellness exams. This is a chance to lead, shape, and grow a dedicated rehabilitation program with the support, tools, and respect it deserves.
Responsibilities- Perform in-depth rehabilitation evaluations and create individualized treatment plans
- Deliver advanced rehab therapies including therapeutic exercise, laser, hydrotherapy, PEMF, and other modalities
- Track patient progress and refine care plans for optimal outcomes
- Collaborate closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff
- Educate clients with clarity and confidence so they stay engaged in the rehab process
- Maintain thorough, compliant medical records
- DVM or VMD from an accredited veterinary school
- Active California veterinary license, or ability to obtain prior to start
- Hands-on experience in veterinary rehabilitation or physical therapy
- Strong communication skills and a patient-first mindset
- Comfort working independently while still valuing collaboration
- CCRP, CCRT, or equivalent rehabilitation certification
- Experience building or expanding a rehab program
- Interest in mentoring and developing team members
