Overview
Per Diem appointment for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at East Campus Nuclear Medicine. Hiring pay scale: 67.81 per hour. Worksite:
East Campus Medical Center (Alvarado Road).
Schedule:
Variable, 8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday. Total openings:

Under general supervision, performs routine to complex Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing radioactive materials and radioactive pharmaceuticals in accordance with established Nuclear Medicine guidelines and protocols. Performs radionuclide imaging of organs, organ systems, compartments physiologic functions, assays of body fluids, tissues and radiobioassays. Demonstrates and applies knowledge of Nuclear Medicine imaging and principles of radiation safety. Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established Nuclear Medicine protocols to achieve the highest quality image.
Follows protocols specified by the Radiologist. Educates patient, collects patient history, and communicates patient information to the Radiologist. Enters complex data into the computer systems. Reviews, verifies and evaluates images to ensure technical quality and image quality. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures using radioactive materials and pharmaceuticals following guidelines and protocols.
- Image and evaluate radionuclide studies, ensuring high-quality results.
- Prepare and position patients; educate patients and collect history; communicate findings to Radiologist.
- Enter data into computer systems and verify information as part of the imaging workflow.
- Adhere to radiation safety principles and department protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
- California Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technician license issued by NMTCB OR Registered Technologist for Nuclear Medicine Technology issued by ARRT (R.T(N)(ARRT))
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date
- Recent graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine technology program
- Recent experience in a similar role and setting or new graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine technology program
- Understanding of radiology systems including PACS and RIS
- One (1) year of hospital experience
- Must be able to work at various locations based on business needs
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime if necessary
Annual Full Pay Range: $141,587 - $141,587 (will be prorated if appointment percentage < 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $67.81 - $67.81. Pay scales may reflect factors such as experience, skills, licensure, and special requirements. The Hiring Pay Scale represents the budgeted salary or hourly range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
