About The PositionFusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide advanced respiratory care to patients with complex pulmonary disorders and critical illnesses, including those in intensive care units and emergency settings.
Required Qualifications- One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
- Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- ACLS or PALS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Other certifications and licenses relevant to the role (if required)
A Registered Respiratory Therapist provides advanced respiratory care to patients with complex pulmonary disorders and critical illnesses. RRTs independently assess, treat, and manage patients across a wide range of respiratory conditions, collaborating closely with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver life‑saving therapies and patient‑centered care.
Essential Work Functions- Collaborate with physicians to develop patient treatment plans
- Examine and interview patients with breathing and/or cardiopulmonary disorders
- Perform diagnostic tests, such as measuring lung capacity or collecting blood/sputum samples
- Treat patients using chest physiotherapy, aerosol medications, and other methods
- Set up and monitor equipment to ensure patients receive the correct oxygen levels
- Observe and record patient status and progress
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate patient care
- Educate patients and/or family members on medication and equipment use
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of RRT practice
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and proficient PC skills
- Physical ability to remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Professionalism and ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel
- Fine motor skills for procedure assistance and equipment use
- Ability to handle frequent public contact, meet deadlines, and manage irregular activity schedules
- Good visual acuity and effective communication skills
