Position: F/T or P/T - PET/CT - Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for producing high quality diagnostic images of Nuclear Medicine studies. Special attention to radiation safety and regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with patients and radioactive materials. Responsible for effective communication with vendors, customers, and radiologists as necessary. In some instances, trains new technologists and/or patient coordinators.

Specific Duties
  • Produce high quality diagnostic images of Nuclear Medicine studies, ensuring radiation safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic injection technique.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and radiologists.
  • May train new technologists and/or patient coordinators.
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
    Associate's Degree preferred.
  • NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification required.
  • State license as required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications.
  • Local travel may be required.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is or may be a condition of employment.
  • Completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen required.
Physical Requirements

The employee may be exposed to outside weather during patient transport (mobile unit), radioactive isotopes, ionizing radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.

More than 50% of the time
  • Sit, stand, walk.
  • Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs.
  • See, speak, and hear to communicate with patients.
Less than 50% of the time
  • Stoop, kneel, or crawl.
  • Climb and balance.
  • Carry and lift (move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or exam).
