Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $77.910 - $100.530 - $112.590
The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will DoThis will be a telepharmacy role working onsite in our Centralized Pharmacy location. This position will be handling remote medication orders for the Sharp acute care pharmacies (Sharp Memorial, Sharp Grossmont, Sharp Chula Vista, Sharp Coronado).
Required Qualifications- Education pursuant to licensure requirement.
- 3 Years experience in a hospital pharmacy practice;
Or - 1 Year completion of PGY1 Pharmacy Residency.
- California Pharmacist License - CA State Board of Pharmacy
-REQUIRED - ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association
-REQUIRED - AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association

- 2 Years completion of PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency.
- AHA BLS and ACLS are required within 90 days of hire.
- Verification and review of medication orders: reviews all medication orders for appropriate dose, duration, frequency, dosage form and indication; monitors therapy for potential or actual drug interactions; ensures compliance with inpatient drug formulary; provides counseling to patients on medication use where applicable; assesses patient understanding and provides education tailored to the patient.
- Medication Therapy Monitoring: ensures drug regimens are consistent with guidelines, adjusts regimens as needed, completes daily profile reviews including patient demographics, organ function, and laboratory data; evaluates antimicrobial therapy and monitors for interactions and contraindications; communicates with health care providers and documents interventions as needed.
- Clinical Intervention Program: participates in clinical interventions, documents interventions, communicates with prescribers and nurses, and supports rounds where applicable.
- Pharmacy Operations: ensures medications are prepared and dispensed accurately and timely; maintains controlled substances records; utilizes automation and technology; demonstrates knowledge of age specific delivery systems and aseptic technique; participates in Code-Blue emergencies when applicable; understands investigational drug protocols where applicable; supports cost management and inventory control; oversees pharmacy staff and residents.
- Safe Medication Practice, Regulatory, and Quality Improvement: participates in medication safety monitoring, analyzes events, supports medication use evaluations, conducts inspections, ensures medication storage security, and ensures compliance with policy and regulatory requirements.
- Communication and teamwork: engages with customers and internal staff, communicates goals and handoffs, problem-solves and escalates as needed, participates in meetings and reviews communications, and maintains professional responsiveness.
- Training and mentoring: actively engages in continuing education and professional development; orients and trains new staff; mentors residents and interns.
- Computer skills are highly desirable, especially in word processing.
- Pharmaceutical knowledge and skills.
- Ability to learn computer and application skills as applicable to role.
- Ability to make judgments in demanding situations.
- Ability to manage and oversee projects involving multiple resources, from start to finish.
