Under supervision, provides support to the surgical patient and operating room team by performing standard activities related to and directly involving anesthesia care. Assists the anesthesia team with airway management, physiological monitoring, and the placement of invasive lines. Performs routine maintenance and safety checks of equipment, troubleshooting, cleaning and disinfecting equipment. Exhibits professionalism in patient and staff interactions.
Precepts, assists, and trains new Anesthesia Monitoring staff. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Depending on experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Tech I or Tech II level.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- One (1) year experience working as Anesthesia Technician role or working in Anesthesia Department (for Tech I).
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience as an anesthesia technician and demonstrated competency in all areas of expertise required to be an anesthesia technician by the ASATT. (For Tech II)
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and principles of anesthesia technology.
