Inpatient Pharmacy Technician II / III (Position )

Under general supervision of the Pharmacy Manager and/or Supervisor, the Pharmacy Technician III position assists the pharmacist in the preparation of medications for patient use (oral and parenteral) according to established procedures; assists in the distribution of medications, record keeping, and billing functions; maintains inventory levels; performs assigned operational duties in a scheduled area and will assist pharmacists in completing medication orders and related distribution duties in the assigned areas.
The Pharmacy Technician III may also assist the pharmacist in performing best possible medication histories for patients.
Depending on experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Pharmacy Technician level II or level III.
Minimum Qualifications- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) issued by PTCB. (Required for Pharmacy Technician level III)
- Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
- Must have two to five (2
- 5) years of previous (Inpatient) Pharmacy Tech experience. - Proven knowledge of pharmacy terminology and calculations.
- Strong computer experience and accurate data entry skills.
- Excellent detail and organizational skills to sort, file and retrieve information.
- Demonstrated ability to manage assigned workload within deadlines.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Prior experience with IV sterile compounding preparation.
- Two (2) years of experience in an Inpatient hospital setting.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Annual Full Pay Range: $54,998 - $68,403 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $26.34 - $32.76

The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
