Radiology Technician - La Jolla

Job SummaryWorking under general supervision, the incumbent performs routine to complex radiographic and fluoroscopic exams using fixed and portable imaging equipment throughout General Diagnostic Radiology, in accordance with established guidelines and protocols. The role requires advanced knowledge of radiologic technology and serves as a Diagnostic subject‑matter expert, assisting other technologists as needed. The Technician applies principles of radiation safety, prepares and positions patients, follows Radiologist protocols, enters complex data into the computer system, reviews, verifies, and evaluates images for technical and image quality, and ensures compliance with related policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations.
- Apply radiation safety principles and maintain compliance with regulations.
- Prepare patients for procedures using established protocols.
- Enter diagnostic data accurately into the computer system.
- Review, verify, and evaluate images to ensure technical quality.
- Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, physicians, and other health care members.
- Assist other technologists as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Recent graduate of a school of radiologic technology.
- California Radiology Technologist of Radiography (CRT‑R).
- California Radiology Technologist of Fluoroscopy (CRT‑F) within six (6) months of hire; required to be considered for a Senior Rad Tech.
- Registered Technologist for Radiography issued by ARRT (R.T(R)(ARRT)).
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- Less than 18 months of recent experience in a similar role and setting or a new graduate of an approved radiologic technology program (Rad Tech) OR more than 18 months of experience (Sr. Rad Tech).
- Must possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
- Two (2) years of experience in a similar role and setting.
- Demonstrated hospital experience.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on‑call, and some overtime as necessary.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.
Annual Full Pay Range: $89,241 – $110,894 (prorated if appointment is less than 100%).
Hourly Equivalent: $42.74 – $53.11.
